Guangzhou is supposed to be one of the most international cities in China.  Many migrant workers live here.  They are participating in the rapid development of the city and have experienced a lot of big changes on the surface.  They live in a multi-cultural environment to some extent and need to learn to adapt to it.  Our film will be about the experience of outsiders living in Guangzhou, whether they are foreigners or from small villages within China.

We chose a relationship between a middle class, white female and a poor, uneducated, Chinese woman to show how they both face similar issues common to women but from different perspectives. we explore the issue of the black experience in China as well. It is the first independent feature film in China to do so.  The script was inspired by the true case of a black man whose visa had expired and who was chased by police until he fell down some stairs and died.  Hundreds of blacks in Guangzhou protested this incident and the treatment of blacks in general.  Research shows that in the last five years, new discrimination against blacks has been rising in China.

Patrick Mulassa formerly a journalist from The Congo, studies Media in Guangzhou.  He has also been a professional break dancer and singer for many years. He will play the part of Beni.

Delphine Colignon who is a French teacher and photographer living in Guangzhou, has volunteered to act the part of Louise and to write the French dialog in the script. Matthieu Letallec also a French teacher, will play Francois.  He has traveled and taught in many Asian countries for many years.  He is interested in performing arts and film.

Du Liang a well-known Guangzhou performance artist will play the role of the clown.  He has had many local and international exhibitions and has his own studio that encourages children to get involved in art.
